ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.59 g, 11 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles standing left, nude but for lion's skin over his shoulder and left arm; resting right hand on club; to left, monogram. HGC 6, 359. Le Rider, Thasiennes 52. Lightly toned and with good centering. A few minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
