CELTIC, Central Gaul. Arverni. 3rd century BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 7.45 g, 12 h), imitating types of Philip II of Macedon, "à la lyre" type. Laureate male head to left. Rev. Charioteer, holding kentron in his right hand and reins in his left, driving biga to right; below, lyre. Castelin 458. De la Tour 5281 var. ( horse to left ). Delestrée & Tache 3374-3376 ( same obverse die ). Some die-wear, otherwise, very fine.
