Lucilla, Augusta, 164-182. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 30.5 mm, 26.79 g, 5 h), struck under Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, Rome, 161-162. LVCILLAE AVG ANTONINI AVG Draped bust of Lucilla to right. Rev. V-ES-TA / S C Vesta standing left, sacrificing with right hand from simpulum over lighted altar to left, and holding palladium in right hand. Banti 47. BMC (Aurelius) 1178. Cohen 94. RIC (Aurelius) 1779. Well centered with a pleasing green patina and very attractive surfaces. Good very fine.
From a European collection, acquired from Gadoury in 2018.
