Description
SICILY. Segesta. Circa 412/10-400 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 27.5 mm, 8.56 g, 12 h). Hound, the rivergod Krimisos, standing to right; above, head of the nymph Segesta to right. Rev. EΓEΣΣΤΑZI-B Head of the nymph Segesta to right. BMC 28 ( same reverse die ). De Luynes 1116 ( same obverse die ). Hurter 163 (V47/R90). An interesting and quite unusual double-strike. Very fine.
