Description
SICILY. Segesta. Circa 475/70-455/50 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22.5 mm, 8.51 g, 1 h). ΣΕΓΕ[ΣΤΑ-ΖΙΒ] ( retrograde ) Hound, the rivergod Krimisos, standing to right. Rev. Head of the nymph Aigeste to right, her hair bound with a taenia; all within a linear circular border. Hurter 57 (V18/R35). McClean 2532 ( same dies ). SNG ANS 618 ( same dies ). Well centered and lightly toned. Fine.
