Q. Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio and P. Licinius Crassus, 47-46 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 4.05 g, 1 h), North Africa. Q·METEL· PIVS – SCIPIO·IMP Lion-headed Genius Terrae Africae standing facing, holding ankh in her right hand; to left and right of her head, G.T. - A. Rev. P·CRASSVS·IVN – LEG PRO·PR Victory standing to left, holding caduceus and shield. Babelon (Caecilia) 51, (Licinia) 21. Crawford 460/4. CRI 43. Sydenham 1050. Very rare. Toned. Very fine.

From a European collection and from that of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, Nomos 9, 21 October 2014, 97, acquired from Münzen und Medaillen AG in Basel prior to 1975.
