Charioteer driving quadriga walking to right, holding goad in his right hand and the reins in both; above, Nike flying right to crown the horses; in the exergue, ketos to right. Rev. ΣV-RΑΚ-ΟΣ-Ι-Ο-Ν Diademed head of Arethusa to right, her hair bound with a taenia, wearing an elaborate pendant earring and a necklace of pendants; around, four dolphins swimming to right. Boehringer 534 (V273/R375). SNG Lockett 937 (same dies). Attractively toned and with a wonderfully elegant reverse. Minor traces of corrosion and with an obverse struck from a rusty die. Extremely fine.
