ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on backless throne, holding eagle in his outstreched right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, monogram over bunch of grapes. The coin is part of a series that has been connected by Price with the military activities of Lysimachos and Seleukos that led to the battle of Kurupedion (281 BC). The latter part of the series might reflect the turmoil caused by the Celtic invasion of Asia Minor.
