ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 340-300 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 7.16 g, 11 h). Bearded head of Dionysos to left, wearing wreath of ivy leaves with berries at his forehead. Rev. ΘΑΣΙΟ[Ν] Herakles, wearing lion-skin headdress and short, hunting chiton, kneeling right, shooting his bow; to right, monogram. HGC 6, 353. Le Rider, Thasiennes 31. West 42-46 var. Attractively toned. Some flatness in strike and obverse stuck off-centre, otherwise, nearly very fine.
