Miletos. Circa 294-281 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15.5 mm, 3.69 g, 12 h), series III, struck under the magistrate Antipatros. Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. ANTIΠATP[OΣ] Lion standing to left, his head turned back to right; above, 8-pointed star; to left, Miletos monogram; in exergue, magistrate’s name. Deppert-Lippitz 166 (V6/R6). SNG Copenhagen 957. A remarkably attractive example: sharp, lightly toned and struck in high relief from fresh dies. Good extremely fine.
