Ephesos. Circa 550-500 BC. Hekte (Gold, 9 mm, 2.27 g), c. 550. Bee. Rev. Irregular incuse square. Cf. Gemini X, 2013, 96 (but a horsefly rather than a bee). Cf. Hauck & Aufhäuser 19, 2006, 107 (silver 1/3 stater). Traité II, pl, 152, 16. Cf. Triton VIII, 2005, 407 (a hemihekte of this type). Extremely rare, possibly unpublished. Obverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, good very fine.
