Philippoi. Circa 356-345 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.17 g, 5 h). Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΩΝ Tripod, with three circular handles adorned with fillets; above, laurel branch; in field to right, bow. Bellinger 8 (citing BMC 4, SNG ANS 650 and SNG Copenhagen 293). Rare. An attractive, nicely struck and clear example. Extremely fine.
