Gold Medal commemorating the capture of Reval (Tallinn) in 1710, by I. Konstantinov. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Peter I right / Aerial view of Reval's fortifications. To upper right, armored and winged Genius flying left. 47,0mm. 63,87g. Diakov 37.5.

This medal, engraved by Konstantinov, is part of a vast series celebrating the achievements of Peter the Great. The capture of the city of Reval (today Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia) marked a crucial point in the war between Russia and Sweden (the Great Northern War). From then on, Russia dominated the Baltic.
