This medal, engraved by Konstantinov, is part of a vast series celebrating the achievements of Peter the Great. The capture of the city of Reval (today Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia) marked a crucial point in the war between Russia and Sweden (the Great Northern War). From then on, Russia dominated the Baltic.
