Attica, Athens., Orphanides forgery Decradrachm Early XX cent., PB 33.80 mm., 41.51 g.
circa 469/5-460. Head of Athena r., with frontal eye, wearing single-pendant earring, necklace with pendants, and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over the visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl. Rev. Owl standing facing, wings spread; olive sprig and crescent to upper l., A-Θ-E clockwise around from upper r.; all within incuse square. For type, cf. Starr Group II.C.
