Description

The Ptolemies, Ptolemy I Soter as satrap, 323-305. Memphis Tetradrachm circa 325, AR 25.5mm., 17.17g. Head of Heracles r., wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated l. on throne, holding eagle and sceptre; beneath, ΔΙ – O and in lower l. field, flower. Zervos ANSMN 13, p. 3 and pl. 1, 3 (Ptolemy I as satrap). Price 3971.

Rare. Lovely old cabinet tone and of the finest style. Two small metal flaw, otherwise, Good Very Fine.
