The first specimen known of this issue was in Copenhagen, the ethnic was not legible and Lederer ascribed the coin to Syracuse. Oeconomides in 1984, reportig a specimen found in the excavations of Kassopi with a legible ethnic allowing for an accurate dating and attribution of this issue.
