Description

Great Britain. Evans, Sir. A. J. The Coins of the Ancient Britons. Arranged and Described. London, 1864. 8vo., pp. xi, (1), 424; 26 fine plates, further illustrations in the text. Original green publisher’s cloth, lettered, panelled and decorated in gilt. With the neat library label of Jacob Hirsch pasted onto the spine and repeated on the front pastedown, and the author’s dedication on the first free endpaper. The spine chipped, worn and taped, the text block detached. The contents lightly thumbed but generally clean. The classic work, still useful and with a fine provenance.
