Bound in green quarter calf and marbled boards, the spine elaborately decorated in gilt. Rubbed and worn, the spine a little scuffed, with a neat contemporary library label pasted on. The contents lightly foxed with some wear, particularly to the plates, some discolouration, the page edges thumbed, a few neat annotations in the text. From the library of Camillo Serafini with his library stamp and ink signature on the first free endpaper. A fascinating work, the earliest Italian numismatic publication depicting coins printed in high relief and with metallic tints. Unsurprisingly rare.
