Both volumes bound in contemporary red quarter morocco, marbled boards and endpapers, five raised bands to the spines, lettered in gilt. The joints and extremities rubbed and worn, the hinges weak with the upper board of volume one detached and that of volume two loose. The backstrip split, and the spinecaps worn. Internally fine, with only some light browning and few signs of wear. The rare, first edition of this important, classic reference. (2)
