Description

[Tesoro di Via Alessandrina.] Cimino, Guido, Baranowsky, Michele, & Bezzi, Guido. [Periti] R. Tribunale di Roma. Sezione prima. Perizia del collegio peritale nominato dal Tribunale di Roma. Sezione prima - con sentenza del 14 maggio-12 giugno 1940-XVIII per la stima del “Tesoro di Via Alessandrina” in Roma. Perugia, 1942. 4to., pp. xxxi, (1), 202, 7 photographic plates mounted onto card, illustrating ancient Greek and Roman coins, Italian coins, gems and jewellery. In the original printed card covers, dusty and worn at extremities with some tears repaired with tape. The contents browned with a few marks, the title page creased. With the usual stamp of Michele Baranwosky on the upper wrapper. The first catalogue and photographic record of the famous ‘Tesoro di Via Alessandrina’ hoard discovered in 1933. Still important and rarely offered.
Lists over 2,600 Greek and Roman coins and antiquities, with printed values exceeding 1.2 million Lire.
