Denarius, Brundisium and Roma ? circa 29-27 BC, AR 3.88 g. Bare head r. Rev. IMP – CAESAR Military trophy, its base crossed with rudder and anchor and set on prow r. C 119. BMC 625. RIC 265a. CBN 57.
Wonderful old cabinet tone, two banker’s marks on obverse,
otherwise about extremely fine / extremely fine Privately purchased from Spink in 2013.
Another coin celebrating the naval victory of Actium over Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra. A very imperial and noble portrait type. AMP.
