Description

Octavian as Augustus, 27 BC – 14 AD. Denarius, uncertain mint circa 17, AR 3.72 g. CAESAR Bare youthful head r.; all within oak-wreath. Rev. AVG – VST Candelabrum ornamented with ram's heads and surmounted by crescent within wreath and entwined with bucrania and paterae. C 2. BMC 684. RIC 540. CBN 1013.
Rare. Magnificent iridescent tone, flan crack at eleven o’clock on obverse,
otherwise extremely fine / good extremely fine
