Syracuse

Tetradrachm circa 485-480, AR 26 mm, 17.12 g. Slow quadriga driven r. by charioteer, holding reins; above, Nike flying r. to crown horses. Rev. ΣVRA – ΚΟΣΙ – Ο – Ν : Pearl-diademed head of nymph Arethusa r., wearing necklace; dotted neck truncation. Rizzo pl. XXXIV, 10 (this obverse die). Boehringer 45.
