AN INTERESTING COLLECTION OF ROMAN REPUBLICAN COINS FORMED BY AN ENGLISH AMATEUR SCHOLAR
Quadrans, South East Italy circa 208, Æ 4.45 g. Head of Hercules r., wearing lion’s skin; behind, three pellets. Rev. ROMA Prow r.; and below, three pellets. Sydenham 148c. RBW –. Cf. McCabe ”Anonymous Bronzes” type C1. Crawford cf. 89/6 (with club above prow).
Brown tone and good extremely fine
The style of this coin is clearly associated with the Crawford 89 club series, although the coin is lighter than other examples published by McCabe.
