Trachy, Constantinople or Thessalonica circa 1204-1261 AD, Æ 16 mm, 1.95 g. Unknown Rev. Half-length figure of emperor, bearded, seated upon backless throne, wearing divitision, loros, maniakion, and stemma with pendilia, in r. hand holding cross-tipped-sceptre and in l. globus cruciger. Exceedingly rare. Obverse brockage, traces of overstriking,
otherwise very fine / good very fine

This very rare Latin type is seldom seen in the market and the first one of this type to be offered at auction.
The trachy is overstruck on an unidentifiable type.
