Calabria, Tarentum.
Nomos circa 335-333, AR 7.85 g. Nude youth on horseback l.; in l. field, nude youth standing r., removing bridle with both hands; in l. field, |-, in r., Δ and below, KAΛ and Ξ. Rev. TAPAΣ Dolphin rider r., holding bow and arrows; below, ΦI. Vlasto 563 (this coin). AMB 94 (this coin). Fischer-Bossert 725f (this coin). SNG ANS 975 (these dies). Historia Numorum Italy 900.
Extremely rare and undoubtedly the finest specimen in private hands. A very interesting
and unusual obverse representation struck on excellent metal and with
a superb old cabinet tone. Extremely fine
