Lucilla, daughter of Marcus Aurelius and wife of Lucius Verus. Sestertius circa 164-169, Æ 24.24 g. LVCILLAE AVG ANTONIN AVG F Draped and diademed bust r. Rev. PIE – TAS / S – C Pietas, draped, veiled and diademed, standing l., strewing with her outstretched r. hand incense out of a box held in her l. over garlanded altar. C 54. BMC M. Aurelius 1161. RIC M. Aurelius 1756. A bronze of exceptional quality. An austere portrait struck in high relief and a delightful untouched enamel-like dark green patina. Good extremely fine Ex NAC 33, 2006, 511 and NAC 54, 2010, 468 sales. From the Luc Girard collection.
