Septimius Severus, 193 – 211. Aureus 202-210, AV 6.95 g. SEVERVS – PIVS AVG Laureate head r. Rev. VICT – PART – MAX Victory advancing l., holding wreath in r. hand and palm branch in l. C 743. BMC 365 note. RIC 295. Calicó 2566. A very attractive portrait of fine style and a finely-detailed reverse die. Virtually as struck and almost Fdc Provenance L. Vierordt Collection, sold by Jacques Schulman, Amsterdam, auction 139, 5 March 1923 sqq., lot 1842, to Schulman.
