Distater, Amphipolis circa 336-323, AV 17.15 g. Head of Athena r., wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet; bowl decorated with coiled snake. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Nike standing l., holding wreath and stylis; in outer l. field, trident. SNG Copenhagen 623. SNG Lockett 1423 (this coin). Troxell, ANS NS 21, group A. Price 171. A very attractive specimen of fine style of this desirable issue. Minor edge marks, otherwise about extremely fine Ex Glendining’s 12-13 February 1958, Lockett, 1333 and Triton IX, 2006, 753 sales.
