Stater circa 375-365, AR 10.17 g. Aphrodite seated l. on throne wearing polos, chiton and peplos, holding a phiale in her r. hand and resting her l. on the arm of the throne; in l. field, Eros flies towards her, holding a wreath. Beneath the throne, a mouse to l. Rev. NAΓIΔIKON Dionysus standing facing slightly l., holding a vine-branch with a bunch of grapes in his r. hand and a thyrsus in his l.; in upper l. field, monogram and a fly and below, AΓI. SNG Berry 1283 (this coin). SNG France 30 (these dies).
Struck on fresh metal and with a superb iridescent tone. Minor areas
of weakness, otherwise good extremely fine
