A Very Important Series of Coins of Syracuse mostly from a Distinguished European Collector
Tetradrachm or 16 litrae circa 274-212, AR 13.46 g. Veiled and diademed head of Philistis l.; behind, ear of barley. Rev. BAΣIΛIΣΣAΣ – [Φ]IΛIΣTIΔOΣ Fast quadriga driven r. by Nike; in r. field, KIΣ, above, crescent and below, ear of barley with stalk. CCO 71. SNG ANS 882 (these dies). SNG Lloyd 1742 (these dies).
