Republic, 8 reales, Hermosillo mint, 1861 FM, Sonora cap and eagle, first type with date reading ‘186I’ and wide ‘H’ in mintmark, struck in coinage alignment, with straight-grained edge, 27.02g (DP-Ho01a), legend weak in places as usual for the issue but eagle and cap well struck up; with a few minor marks from light circulation, extremely fine and extremely rare thus.
