Description

Poland, Vladislaus IV, silver medal, undated (c. 1636), Bromberg mint, bust right in lace collar, armour and wearing the order of the Golden Fleece, rev., crowned Vasa shield of arms, 38.5mm., 16.79g (Hutten-Czapski 1881; Parchimowicz 1822), small circular countermark on rim above bust, extremely fine and toned, very rare. Provenance: Count Emeryk Hutten Czapski (1897-1979), grandson and heir of the celebrated collector, numismatist and historian of the same name; hence by descent.
