Sicily, Syracuse, Agathokles (317-289 BC), tetradrachm, wreathed head of Kore right; behind head, ΚΟΡΑΣ, rev., Nike standing right erecting trophy; to right, triskeles; to left, [ΑΓΑΘΟΚΛΕΙΟΣ], 16.83g, die axis 5.00 (cf. Ierardi 115 (O26?/R73); SNG ANS 665-68), some very light tooling in fields, extremely fine. Provenance: Hess-Leu 45, 12 May 1970, lot 70 and Münzen und Medaillen 68, 15 April 1986, lot 76.
