Transport Medal, 1899-1902, single clasp, S. Africa 1899-1902 (W. Grieve.), lightly toned, extremely fine Chief Officer W. Grieve served aboard the S.S. Mahratta of the T. J. Brocklebank Line. The Mahratta left Great Britain on 7 March 1900, calling at Las Palmas on the 13th and arriving at Cape Town on 29 March that year. The troops carried were from the 25th (West Somerset), the 53rd (East Kent) and 59th (Oxfordshire) Imperial Yeomanry.
