A Boer War and Great War Long Service and Good Conduct Group of 4 awarded to Farrier-Sergeant John Wood, Royal Horse Artillery, comprising: Queen’s South Africa, 1899-1902, 2nd type reverse with ghosted dates, 3 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Orange Free State, Johannesburg (28713 S.Sth: J. Wood, T Bty: R.H.A.); King’s South Africa, 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (28713 Shg:-Sth: J. Woods. R.H.A.); British War Medal, 1914-1919 (28713 Sjt. J. Wood. R.A.); Army Long Service and Good Conduct, G.V.R. (28713 F.Sjt: J. Wood. R.H.A.); Group loose, lightly toned, a few light marks, very fine (4) Farrier-Sergeant John Wood served during the Boer War with “T” Battery, Royal Horse Artillery (roll confirms), and again during the Great War in 1914, initially with the 7th Brigade R.H.A.
