A Boer War and Great War Group of 3 awarded to Private Thomas Berry, 3rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, late “U” Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, wounded in action at Modder River on 15 February 1900, comprising: Queen’s South Africa, 1899-1902, 2nd type reverse with ghosted dates, 5 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (31335 Dvr; T. Berry, U Bty., R.H.A.); British War and Victory Medals, 1914-1919 (GS-53372 Pte. T. Berry. R. Fus.); Group loose, good very fine (3) Private Thomas Berry is confirmed on the Q.S.A. Medal Roll & Great War M.I.C. with entitlement as above. He is also confirmed as having been wounded in action at Modder River on 15 February 1900 in ‘The Boer War Casualty Roll 1899-1902’ by Palmer.Ex Lovell Collection, Part 2, Sotheby’s, 15-16 November 1978
