Imperial Order of Guadalupe, Type 1, Agustin Iturbide Issue (1822), embroidered breast star of four arms, each with three beams ended in rounded points, each of the arms embroidered in green, silver, and red thread, top and bottom and left and right colours reversed, with embroidered olive wreath to left and palm wreath to right, centre exergue joined by silver and gilt threat with the motto of the Order in black letters ‘religion yndependencia union’, the centre bearing a representation of Our Lady of Guadalupe surrounded by gold thread and silver sequins, mounted on a white card backing, 105 x 97mm (Grove O-7; FF 53), very fine and of the highest rarity Purchased private Mexican collection July 2001.
