Lodge. 1/Rif: Bde:); 1914-15 Star (B-3174 Pte A. Lodge. Rif: Brig:); British War and Victory Medals, 1914-1919, the latter with incorrect reduced-size bronze M.i.D. spray of oakleaves (B-3174 Cpl. A. Lodge. Rif. Brig.); Group court-mounted for display, medals heavily polished with some surface pitting, fair thus (4) M.M.: London Gazette: 9 July, 1917 Corporal Arthur Lodge served in the Great War with the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade, and was recommended for the Military Medal which was gazetted on 9 July 1917. According to The Great War Medal Collectors Companion, Vol. I by Williamson, awards with this gazette date mostly relate to the Battle of Arras, Vimy Ridge and the Battles of the Scarpe between the dates of April and May 1917.
