King’s South Africa, 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (2791 Pte S. Poyser Cameron Highrs:); extremely fine Private Sydney Poyzer (B.1872) was born c.1872 at Stathern, near Grantham, attesting for service with the Cameron Highlanders at Inverness on 14 December 1891, having previously worked as a Baker. He served during the Nile Expedition of 1898, and was present at the battles of Atbara and Khartoum (entitled Queens Sudan Medal). He also served during the Boer War, spending two and a half years in South Africa and some time at home prior to his discharge in December 1903 (entitled Q.S.A.).
