Eaton, 70th Foot, comprising: Indian Mutiny, 1857-58, no clasp (2403 James Eaton, 70th Regt.), likely a late claim; New Zealand, 1845-66, reverse undated (2403 Corpl. J Eaton 70th Foot); Pair loose, light hairline marks, otherwise good very fine. Corporal James Eaton is confirmed on the Indian Mutiny and New Zealand Medal Rolls as having served with the 70th (Surrey) Foot, with entitlement as above. The roll also states that he was discharged in New Zealand.
