*An Indian Mutiny and Indian General Service Pair awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Simon Fraser McGillivray, Bombay Staff Corps, late 26th Native Infantry, comprising: Indian Mutiny, 1857-59, no clasp (Lieut. S F McGillivray, 26th Bombay N.I.); India General Service, 1854-95, single clasp, Persia (Lieut. S F. Mac.Gillivray, 26th Regt Bombay N.I.); Pair loose, the first extremely fine, the second good very fine with a tiny edge bruise (2). Lieutenant-Colonel Simon Fraser McGillivray served with the Persian Expeditionary Force on its march to Borazjoon, at the Battle of Khooshab, and at the capture of Mohumra on the 25th March 1857 (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Deccan against the rebel Bheels in 1857-58; present at the engagements of Shumshapoor and Digrish (Hart’s Army List, 1878, refers). He retired with the rank of honorary Lieutenant-Colonel on 8 May 1882.
