*Sutlej, 1845-46, reverse Moodkee 1845, 2 clasps Ferozeshuhur, Sobraon (Capt. H.H. Say 45th Regt. N.I.), very fine [clasps confirmed]. Major Henry Hirst Say was born in Kent, 1805, he enlisted as Cadet in 1825, joined the 57th N.I. as an Ensign July 1826 transferring to the 45th in September of the same year. From 1830-42 he served as Interpreter and Quartermaster, Captain January 1845, and Major Nov. 1854, he is listed as donating £5 to the 1861 Indian famine Relief Fund. He died in January 1884.
