Attributed to Cristoforo di Geremia (fl. Rome 1456-76), Sacrifice to Cupid, bronze-gilt plaquette, Cupid on an altar attended by three female figures on the left and in the foreground a woman kneeling before a flaming urn facing another woman seated before her; in exergue, L C R II/S, 48.4 x 44.3mm (Molinier 117; Bange -; Kress 326; Bekker, Leipzig, 32; Radcliffe, Studies in the History of Art 22, p. 93, fig 1), pierced four times, possibly for use as a cap badge, and with crenelated edge, fine contemporary cast
