Kings of Thrace, Lysimachus (323-281 BC), gold stater, Lampsacus (?), c. 297-281 BC, head of Alexander the Great right wearing horn of Ammon, rev., ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜAΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, holding Nike and spear and leaning on shield; in inner field, HP monogram, 8.52g (Thompson -), toned, a few minor marks, extremely fine and of very good style, apparently an unrecorded variety. Stylistically this could be from the mint of Lampsacus (compare lot 138 below) where the HP monogram is recorded on silver tetradrachms (as Thompson 44-47)
