Shortly before 1019 AD a confederacy was organized among the Kalachuri Gangeyadeva, the Paramara Bhoja and Rajendera Chola who made simultaneous attacks on the Deccan. A battle was fought on the bank of the Godavari in which Jayasimha claims to have repulsed all of them. The Kannada legends "Sri Gonala Bhupa" in the center line might have used after this incidence of battle to demonstrate the glorifying and strong kingdom under Jayasimha's rule. His reign was important period of development of Kannada literature. An exceptionally beautiful example with complete details visible on it!
