1920, King George V, Cupro-Nickel 8 Annas, Bombay Mint, dot, Original Currency Strike Issue, (PR # 873/GK # 1079), some hints of toning, attractive sharp features, brilliant condition, AUNC, Exceedingly Rare.
Note: Eight Annas were emergency issued coins and they were not intended to replace the existing silver half rupee, minting of these coins ceased in 1921 when the silver price stabilized. The eight annas were recalled from circulation in 1924 and only a few handful pieces that were actually used as currency survived. Encountering currency issue coins in high grades is highly uncommon and missing from various collections.
