Note: Kannan Devan Hill Produce Company controlled a large number of tea gardens in the Travancore area, Munar, Devikulam, South India and also in Assam. The bust depicts Sir John Muir, Bt. (1828-1903), who founded the company in 1897. Sir John Muir was head of the firm of James Finlay & Co., Glasgow, which had control of many tea, coffee and cinchona estates extending over a large area in North Travancore.
