Indo Greeks, Euthydemos I (230-190 BC), Silver Tetradrachma, Obv: a diademed bust of the king, facing right, within dotted border, Rev: a nude Hercules seated facing left on a pile of rocks, holding a club in his right hand which rests on his right knee and his other hand rests on the pile of rocks, Panjhir monogram at the lower-right field, Greek legend “BAΣIΛEΩΣ/EYΘYΔHMOY” “Basilews Euqudhmou” (… of king Euthydemos), 16.53g, 28.70mm, (Mitch. ACW # 1624/MIG # 94), about extremely fine, Extremely Rare.
Note: On the reverse, Herakles' club rests on his right knee instead of on a second pile of rocks as on previous types listed in Mitchiner. An exceptional specimen, centrally well struck on a large flan with complete details preserved in superb quality.
