Description

Greece, Egypt, Ptolemy I Soter (323-283 BC) AR Tetradrachm, Memphis (or possibly Alexandreia) - RARE Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm Memphis or Alexandria, struck under Ptolemy I as satrap.
Obverse: Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Reverse: AΛEΞANΔPOY / ΔI Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, thunderbolt.
Silver, diameter ~25 mm, weight 17,29 g. 
Rzadko występująca emisja Ptolemeusza I w imieniu Aleksandra III Wielkiego. Moneta z wczesnego okresu, charakteryzująca się bardzo dobrym stylem wykonania  Awers: Głowa Heraklesa w skalpie lwa, w prawo. Rewers: Zeus siedzący na tronie w lewo, trzymający orła i berło, w lewym polu wiązka piorunów, pod tronem ΔI, legenda AΛEΞANΔPOY Srebro, średnica ~25 mm, waga 17,29 g.  Reference: Price 3976
